About Margo

Margo Taussig Pinkerton has been a professional photographer since 1982, traveling the world for corporate, editorial, outdoor, and travel clients. Her work was regularly published in Caribbean Travel & Life, GEO, National Geographic Traveler, Vermont Life, Yankee, and a host of other journals, calendars, and books.

Retired from commercial work, she runs Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures with her husband, Arnie Zann, inspiring participants to seek his/her own vision and moving their photography to their next level.

With over 60 solo and group shows to her credit, Margo’s photographs have garnered many awards and are in private collections worldwide as well as the Arthur & Elizabeth Schlesinger Library, Harvard University and Beinecke Archives, Yale University. She and her husband recently published NEW ORLEANS, a fine-art book of photography that has gotten excellent reviews and took a Bronze in the 2021 Prix de la Photographie Paris.

Past President of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) New England and North Carolina chapters, she has also been a national board member. Long an advocate for intellectual property rights, she has lectured extensively on business practices, and aspects of creativity to photographers and art buyers across the country.

Coming from a many-generation, artistic family, Margo addresses creativity and aesthetics over techno-speak. She looks for passion and personal input in a photograph.
