About Nik

I have several qualifications in Graphic Design, in addition to holding those in Photography. Certainly, because of my Graphics, I know about composition rather well. This can be seen in the magazine covers I have taken - indeed, I've been published over 40,000 times throughout the world (in magazines or newspapers)

The 'profile' photograph is "Brodie". The dog I got after "Alfie" was - unfortunately - put to sleep, less he died of a heart attack. He was twenty, I didn't think I'd EVER stop crying. Most of his ashes were cast on the waterfall of the river Almond. The book (by Muriel Spark) "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" is 'set in Cramond, where the waterfall is: Brodie being my latest 'rescue dog' came with the name, considering Kismit it seemed 'correct' to leave it unchanged.

I have been married for over 30 years, surprisingly considering my depression. My wife, Lorna, couldn't take a photograph to save herself! She has had sadness recently 'losing' her Mum' and 'wee' Brother.

My 'big Brother' hasn't passed a civil word to me since our Mum died in 2004. Dad left us in 1985 - but when he was around he encouraged my photography!

Images of food by me are on the covers of 11 magazines and at one stage almost every hotel or 'eatery' held my images in central Edinburgh.

I have stated that I am "Semi-Pro" but that is only because of tax reasons.
