Twilight. I was walking at the bank of river Rhine in Cologne and out of the sudden, behind some trees I spotted the famous cathedral. It appeared in a greenish, mysterious and a little bit spooky light. It gave me a feeling, what the people hundreds of years ago must have felt if they saw this iconic building (even though there was no artificial light at that time...). This was my very first photographic moment - meanwhile more than 20 years ago.

I was truely amazed by this view. Ever since, I want to capture these moments. At my 18th birthday, I got a Minolta x-700, a fully manual camera. Since then, the gear has changed but my love for nightshots and the blue hour, especially next to landmarks, has been my passion ever since.
