About Robert

I photograph alone and with my wife. We have two Canon 6Ds and we like to go out and photograph together, although I do some outings near home on my own. We have both been photographing since the 1960's, sometimes more off than on, but always keeping up the interest. We are happy using our older cameras and lenses and don't spend time or money chasing the latest and greatest in equipment. We are generally happy depending on the center cross hair or focusing manually. Moving targets don't interest us a lot. I do most of our photo editing, using Photoshop, Lightroom classic, Illustrator, and Corel Painter. I have usable skills in all this software. I can spend hours and hours post processing and think it is essential to getting the kind of pictures that were envisioned while out photographing. We have a Canon Imageprograf pro 1000 and do all of our own printing. We have put on one fairly successful show of our work, a display of four-season views of a 650 acre nature center near our home. That was followed by a presentation with projected images of how we put the show together which was quite well received. I dreaded it at first, but found I really enjoyed doing it. Just after putting that show on, I became very sick in 2020 (not covid), and spent most of 2021 recovering. I believed for a while that I would never photograph again. But, I recovered, mostly with my wife's help, and now we're photographing again. Photography, for us, is a love that never dies.
