I am a retired radiologist. I became a photographer in order to create teaching materials, then discovering that my camera could produce beautiful images of a non-medical nature. I began with landscape, then moved into picturing family events, and then into cats. I made the transition from film into digital in 2005-2008. These days I specialize in landscape and cats, using 2 enthusiast Canon DSLRs (t6i and 80D) and several long-lens compact cameras, especially a Nikon P900, which is really a telescope with a digital camera at one end. I use the P900 for bird and other wildlife photos--the 2000 mm equivalent lens enables me to image birds and other animals without disturbing them. Up to now I have not 'published' any of the 40,000+ images in my collection. I am joining Fstoppers at least in part to share some of my work (and play) with other folks besides my relatives. Though I have been in computing for nearly 60 years, I do not like social media--I see more than enough advertising already, and have no wish to endure more.
