Sven Doornkaat

Los Angeles-based photographer Sven Doornkaat has been shooting for more than twenty years, most of those years as a photojournalist. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Photography from the Academy of Photography in Germany.

In the early 90's Sven worked for several newspapers, before he was hired by Germany's leading photo and news agency.

In 2004, Doornkaat moved to Los Angeles. He specializes in shooting portraits (most often celebrities) and light painting photography, where long exposures are required.

Sven's approach incorporates very unique visual effects that bring his cinematic images to another level! His outstanding lighting skills, his variety of styles and a unique vision to create striking and powerful images is what drives his various clients to choose him again and again.

His photos published in more than 50 countries and magazines around the globe such as Hello, OK Magazine, People, 7 Days, Semana, and many, many more. Sven is available for editorial and corporate assignments in the Los Angeles area and abroad.
