Tom Upton
I am Tom Upton, a seasoned professional photographer in Mountain View California. I opened my studio in June 1982. Decades with Silicon Valley clients, but still an avowed photogeneralist. Early adopter to in the digital photography in the 90's with the Leaf DSCB2 and it's half inch scuzzy cable. Created PhotoTrainer.com in 2008 for the rest of humanity and have five star reviews for 18 years.
My interests span from old photo postcards from the turn of the 20th century to, analog pinhole photography on 8x10 sheets, Kirlian photography, multi exposure before and after photoshop, boudoir photography, nature, and fine prints. Never could shake the fine print habit. Second wife thought I had a mistress; actually woulda been cheaper...
Today I concentrate on PhotoTrainer and photography as a contemplative practice. I appreciate the work of Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Lindsey Adler, Roberto Valenzuela, Peter Hurley, and of course Joe McNally. There are so many more...
I love this stuff. ~TEU
