Laszlo Horvath

I’m Laszlo Horvath. Photography has played a major role in my life ever since I turned 6. That’s when my father gave me a camera for the first time and I made my first tourist photo of him standing next to a fountain in Drezden (in former East Germany). I was so excited to be allowed to take a photo that I just couldn’t wait and had taken the shot before my father settled for the picture on the edge of the fountain.

In the past 25 years, after my first experience with the camera, I’ve read several books on photography and learned the techniques by myself using different types of cameras. Since I obtained a college degree in Social Work in 2005 and worked in related fields right after that, photograpy was mainly a past-time activity for a period of time. But my passion for taking photographs became stronger and stronger until I decided to study it. I got admitted to Glasgow College and studied Photography there. I attended courses on the theory of modern digital technology, photo enhancement and touch-up, light technology and applied photography. Several of my photographs were chosen for exhibitions. I obtained a degree in Applied Photography in 2013. Up until 2015 I`ve taken portraits of friends and family members, wedding photos, and pictures of commercial products.
