About Michael

Michael’s photography and video work have taken him across Northern Canada, giving him the chance to experience some of the most inspiring geography and culture on Earth. Michael has photographed the Northwest Territories’ former Premier Floyd Roland, as well as Yukon’s current Premier, Darrell Pasloski. Traveled to the top of Canada to photograph the construction of the Inuvik Super School, drove the famous “Tibbitt to Contwoyto” winter ice road, and flew to numerous remote mining camps for photo essays. He has spent ten cold winter days sleeping in a tent on the tundra near the Arctic community of Kugluktuk, Nunavut, shooting Aurora footage for a short film about the legends of the Northern Lights. Hired by The Canadian Tourism Commission and DDB Vancouver to shoot footage as one of the seed filmmakers representing Northern Canada for their 35 Million Directors commercial. Shoot motion-controlled Aurora and still life timelapse footage for a Japanese company that produces a very popular “Shochu” distilled beverage. The footage appeared in a TV commercial that aired nationally in Japan.
