About Deirdre

I come from the days of the traditional black and white photograph, and I used this luscious fiber-based glossy paper that I loved. Many hours were spent taking pictures and developing countless rolls of film and pictures in the darkroom, both in black and white and color – I still remember it clearly.

After graduating with a B.F.A. in Photography, I gained a lot of experience. I had a few gallery showings of my fine art photos, freelanced for a local paper, and worked in a large commercial custom photography lab in New Jersey, where I worked in one black and white darkroom and two color darkrooms.

After moving to Los Angeles with my husband, I worked as a purchaser for a major camera store in their digital camera department. I also worked on scanned images for a large digital lab, removing imperfections and retouching pictures, some for Herb Ritts and David LaChapelle, and color-correcting digital images for museums around the world. I also worked as a photographer for a high end custom lingerie shop – that was one of my favorite gigs.

I have lived in different states across the United States, starting and ending with New Jersey. I have a wide background that has aided in making me the professional photographer I am today. When I look through a camera and process photos digitally, I rely on my background and experience to produce the final masterpiece.
