Many years ago I took a photography class at the local collage and I liked the process of taking and developing the photos that I submitted in class. I did not do very much outside the realms of the structured assignments because of the cost. I had a couple of paid projects that involved product photography but it was lame and not very creative. I built my own color darkroom and processed a few photos that I really liked but nothing that would have appealed to any great number of people. I started a family and put the darkroom and photography in the attic.
Fast forward 40years; I started my own non-photography technical consulting business that needed use of a high resolution point and shoot digital camera. After a while I was able to justify the expense of a nice camera and subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud. I’m now enjoying learning what I can do with photography; producing photos, and creating prints that have sold (not very many) but I like the reaction that I have received showing some of my work.
I want to get more acceptance of my work and have the desire to get better. This will only come with outside criticism and an understanding of what I do that others like. Or it may not come at all but I will have a great time learning.
