An artist not an artisan so I do not do photography for money only for the sheer pleasure of it. I am mine own worst critic but the wife does a pretty good job also ……
Was developing and making colour prints 43 years ago (note colour not black and white). However that being said I consider monochrome to be the pinnacle of photography! I shoot all in colour but about 25% is pre-envisioned for monochrome and converted in post. I have been using Photoshop since version 3 (not CS3 which came a lot later). I am currently helping run a small local photography club and it is great when someone you are helping starts to see 'the light' and produce great art. Professional photography can be great but (for me) is soulless and often the work of a team. Quite different.
