November 2014 my husband gave me a Canon 100D. I had no idea how to use it outside of Auto so I did a half day workshop the following spring. That summer we went to Kenya on holiday and I had the opportunity to borrow a Canon 7D with 100-400mm L series lens. I fell in love with wildlife photography and now have a ridiculous number of photos of the birds in our garden. I inherited a little money in 2016 and immediately bought my own Canon 7D II with 100-400mm L series II lens.
In March 2020, just before the world ground to a holt with Covid-19, I attended a Macro photography workshop. I promptly ordered a Macro lens for my 7D and it less than promptly arrived two days ago. Currently in lockdown I have ample opportunity and endless subject matter around the house and garden with which to practice this new genre.
