Photography is a great hobby, but unless you are at the top, a difficult profession.
As a skilled but not exceptional banker I made a good living. Not so sure that a skilled but not exceptional photographer would do so well. Travelled the world at the bank's expense, enjoyed the travel and earned my keep.
List of kit is meaningless. I have 2 Leica IIIs, a Leica X digital, a Bronica, and several Pentaxes, film and digital, plus an iPhone 6
Image quality from digitals is very close to film for sizes up to 20x30 inches. I don't go larger.
I'd buy a monochrome Leica and a digital Hasselblad if I earned my living from the cameras.
