I am a retired special needs Education Specialist with several masters. I was as passionate about teaching students with severe cognitive needs, as I am hiking in the wilderness capturing the beauty and grandeur of the High Sierra landscapes. I started out with the lightest Nikon Coolpix and now carry four pounds of camera equipment on eight to nine day hiking trips. I am learning how to use my Sony a6000 with a Sigma 16mm f/1.4. I carry cheat sheets :-) for the types of conditions I am most likely to encounter on my hikes. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements at a minimum. I am a DIY'er and learning all I can to be a better photographer, calibrate my monitor, use InDesign to create my own portfolio, logo, backstamps, etc... I enjoy the creative process and am tackling the creation of a website at present, along with the use of Square and Venmo, actually, the learning list is quite long. I joined fstoppers to follow many of the guest contributors on this platform.
