I picked up a camera for the first time in November of 2023 as part of my health journey. I needed to exercise and walk, and I found it incredibly boring.

In an attempt to get over the mental hurdle of monotony, I thought I'd like to take pictures as I walked of the nature and wildlife that I was seeing.

I've never had an artistic bone in my body and others would say my "superpower" would be related to technology...computers, IT, software, and programming.

I found out that I absolutely loved photography and the challenge of learning to be a better photographer, quickly turned into a passion, and then a raging obsession. At 53 years old, I feel as if I've finally found a creative side that I never knew was there. When I'm on a nature hike, I have the same joy that small children do when they experience one of life's wonders for the first time.

My goal now, is to improve and become the best photographer that I can. While I love current technology, I've found that using older equipment and learning to sharpen my photographic eye also appeals to me. Pushing the limitations of these older systems adds an additional personal challenge.

I enjoy learning and sharing what I've learned and look forward to learning from the other members here at Fstoppers!
