I have been fascinated with nature since I was a small child, insects, birds and when I was 13, amphibians and reptiles which have been my main interest for the last 60 plus years. My career as a Biological Illustrator and Photographer Started at the University of Kansas, were I Illustrated "The Hylid Frogs of Middle America". the last 30 years of my career, I was the biological Illustrator and Photographer at The Ohio State University, College of Biological Sciences. I retired in 1998.
Today I continue to photograph everything nature, but over the last 35 years, I've begun to produced multimedia shows on amphibians and reptiles. I love to go through my 100,000's of old slides and digital files looking for pictures I can work on with the latest imaging software. It's amazing what you can do with a not-so-good old slide or digital file!
Now I use my iPhone 16pro for landscapes and pans. It's much easier than with a camera, and the results are just as good. Also it gives me GPS data and a map showing exact location. When I'm on a photo trip I always Take at least one phone photo for GPS data at each photo location.
Today I use my iPhone for digitizing slides and negatives, It worked faster and has more pixels than any dedicated film scanner I've used.
