Photography wasn't something I had always been interested in. I had went to the University of Alabama and graduated with a degree in computer science. After working a few years in that field, I was drawn to wanting to be self employed. My brother then introduced me to photography. So in 2004, I started my journey as a photographer.
As a young newlywed, I started out shooting in my in-law's living room, which was definitely a struggle with having limited space and gear. I only had a few backgrounds to my name which I had hand painted (they weren't pretty)! The constant setting up and tearing down was tough. At this point, I knew something changes had to be made, not only in space, but in my abilities. I invested in education and pushed myself to get better. It took lots of hard work but paid off. I built my own studio and continue to push myself to continue to improve in all areas of photography, including the business side.
