Kevin Arburn

I spent a working career in real estate and telecommunications; with photography always being a hobby. Since 2013 I've gravitated into motorsports photography - first by shooting a Rolex sports car race at Kansas Speedway [knowing absolutely nothing about what I was doing] and moving on to other local car club events and Pirelli World Challenge races. I also do a little event photography for local car dealerships and related activities. Some years ago I joined the local photo society in the Kansas City Area: Digital Dimensions and Beyond - which has helped a lot in how I approach photography and imagery in general. It's great to be able to share ideas with local pros and amateurs like myself.

I've been lucky enough to shoot alongside some real pros in the motorsports world. I owe a lot to Halston Pitman, Nick Busato and Bob Chapman; each has provided some seriously great advice that has helped me approach the results I want. So far I've had one article with photos published in a national magazine: a feature on Dragon Speed Inc. racing team in the STAR, the award winning magazine published by the Mercedes-Benz Club of America. My goal is to ramp up the quality of my work in all genres, not just automotive. I've also done an architectural series of photos in black & white film that has been exhibited at over a dozen companies in the Kansas City Area via the KC Council for the Arts.
