Spencer Bentley

I'm a part-time photographer who appreciates all genres of the art. I studied International Politics and work as an operations exec at a tech company. I have an ongoing photo project called Enlightened Captures that focuses on yoga practitioners in environmental portraits. The reoccurring face is my wife, who serves as my muse and primary photo partner. I got into photography in 2012 after realizing I would need to move to a new city, away from friends and family, in order to pursue a career. I used it as a creative outlet and a way to occupy my time outside of studying. As I learned the basics of the science and the history of the greats before me, my appreciation grew immensely. I began to take my photography more seriously and eventually gained a following. I focus much of my effort on refining Enlightened Captures. The techniques and insights I've learned through environmental portraiture have broadened my base of knowledge and made me a better photographer over all. I always have a small camera with me, and try to take at least one interesting photo a day, even if I never share it. I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge of all things. I understand time is precious and I consciously invest mine in the things I love.
