Brigitte Gathercole-Day

I was born in South Africa where I spent most of my childhood before emigrating to the UK when I was 15 . I now live in Southwell, Nottinghamshire with my husband.

I have always loved photography for as long as I can remember. So much so, that whenever it came to getting a new mobile phone, my decision would depend on how good the camera was. However, my love for photography became my passion when I got my first DSLR.

I currently specialise in product and nature photography, however, I love taking photo's of people and hope that this will evolve in the future. I am very much an outdoors person and love being surrounded by nature, light, the smells and all the stunning colours of the seasons. I always try to introduce this into my photography so my work has consistency and feel and where people can recognise my brand.

I try to capture the smallest of details that would usually go unseen to most people. This is where I use my creative eye and look at things with a different perspective.

The only way I can describe how photography makes me feel is as though I can escape to another world when I am in the zone. There is something so beautiful about capturing a moment. It's like saving a piece of time that would have been lost.
