Going Home

This is a short story I shot while helping to reunite two young women who had recently healed from fistula surgery in Ethiopia. They were at the Hamlin Fistula Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Fistula is a birth injury that leaves the baby dead and the mother incontinent and or partially paralyzed. They had been sick and isolated in their tents for close to five years each since losing their babies. A relatively simply surgery healed them. Now they are going back to their villages to families who thought they may never see them again.
