BTS: Helicarrier Crash Design VFX in Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Wired's Design FX has given us a great behind the scenes video of everything that was involved in the updated Helicarrier crash scene for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The sheer scale of the project is astounding as FXGuide.com's Mike Seymour and ILM's Digital Models Supervisor Bruce Holcomb take us through the design of the crash and its scale to the actors on the green screen.

You can say what you want about these blockbuster films: some people love them, and some hate them. But you can't deny the amazing amount of work that goes into them. The realism behind these effects is constantly improving...and the complexity along with it.

Great visual stuff. It's too bad you're always watching the same old movie over and over again, whether it's this, or Ironman, Spiderman, etc. It's the same script rehashed and regurgitated.

I was amazed by the detail they put into it ...lot of destruction but so much going on in the shoots ...really well done to the VFX team on pulling it all off ...the water simulation ...could have done with more detail .....but it all looked amazing ...I was thinking about how they did and this is good insight ...
