Hey, there! Between photography, fine art, travel/documentary work, creative provocative apps (more on that at a later date), serving as art director for a small creative agency I started (Curate the World) and writing for Fstoppers.com, I'm doing everything I love to do. Update: I also just started FilmObjektiv.org, a low-cost, film gear rental site for long-term projects. Want to shoot more film? Check it out!

I like helping people, researching new gear, and having great conversations while tapping into my German heritage by enjoying my wurst and Weissbier.

I'm in a different city of California depending on the day of the week, but email or Facebook message me if you want to meet somewhere in this state or talk on the phone. As I said, I love to help -- when I have the time.

Have an idea for a post? A quick question about photo gear? About life? Go for it! And then go shoot something (with your camera)!

Quick things:
I prefer a call to an email, an email to a text, and a text to a tweet...I don't really use Twitter (gasp!)
Favorite funny quote that you sometimes need to remember to do some of your best work: "When I was young, every day I prayed to God for a bicycle. Until one day, I realized God doesn't work that way. So I stole one and prayed for forgiveness instead."
Favorite cheesy-but-totally-true quote: "If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough."

Bonjour Adam.
I'm shooting Time Lapse since few months with my iPhone 6s, using apps like TimeLapse from Xyster.net and more recently ProCam 3. I'm shooting in Video mode, the app is automatically rendering a vidéo in 4K after shooting.
Have you tried to use the Genie Mini in video mode at a very low speed ? for exemple 90° in 120 minutes ? If yes, is it smooth ? Or possible ? Right now I'm using the TurnsPro but I'm thinking about upgrading to the Mini.
Thank for your review.
Kind Regards

Hi, Sebastien. Thanks for the message. I never had a single issue with smoothly recording with the Genie Mini. Just to make sure, I just hooked it up again and retested all of the smooth movements for video. Again, no problems whatsoever. The fantastic thing is that you can easily reset the camera to the start position as well, so your movements are repeatable, providing that you don't move your tripod, etc.

ok, great Adam, thanks :)

I just wanted to thank you for the great review you did on the NewerTech Snuglet. I am with OWC/ NewerTech, and would like to know if you'd be interested in reviewing the OWC Drive Dock: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/TB2U3DKR2/

The OWC Drive Dock is the fastest way to access bare SATA drives. Hot swap, read multiple drives simultaneously, or boot from bare drives, all at the speed of the Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3.0 interfaces. For video content pros working with multiple bare drives on big projects, Drive Dock delivers extreme transfer speeds with amazing flexibility and convenience, making it an indispensible drive tool.

If you'd like to do some hands on testing for an Fstoppers review, please let me know and we'd be happy to send one out.

Thank you,
