Netflix’s "Extraction" has just become the most watched Netflix original film, with 90 million viewers over its first four-week period, which means director Sam Hargrave’s efforts paid off. In this newly released video, we see footage of how Hargrave straped himself to a car in order to film an epic one-take car chase scene.
Chris Hemsworth, one of the stars of the film, recently spoke about filming the scene during an Instagram Live. He recalls:
Sam was on the hood of a chase car, following me, and as that car pulled up alongside us, he unclipped himself and handed the camera through the window into the car that we were driving, to another camera man and we took off. It was a series of hand-offs, which was one of the most technically challenging things I’ve ever been a part of.
Concocted as a result of Hargrave’s concern around the tight budget and time restaints, the 12-minute scene was in fact 36 segments stitched together to look as if it was continuous and with no cuts. Needless to say, his technique puts the audience right in the heart of the action.
Despite now being a director, Hargrave has previously worked as a stuntman and stunt coordinator for productions such as "Avengers: Endgame," "Deadpool 2," "Suicide Squad," and "Wolverine."

Tom Cruise strapped himself to the outside of an Airbus during takeoff. So Sam Hargrave needs to up his game. ;)
