Although Lee and Patrick aren't car experts, they still can discern good photos from poorly executed ones. Listen as they critique 20 images from the Fstoppers Community and let us know if you think they're feedback was on point.

Congratulations to our two winners for this episode. Trevor Jolin submitted the highest average community rated image and Kenny Kroeker was the randomly selected entrant to win a free Fstoppers original tutorial. We will be in touch with both of you via your Fstoppers profiles to claim your prize.

If you'd like to participate in the next episode submit your favorite image that has been published and has made you money.

Congratulations!

Congrats! Sad to see that none of the images were actual real-life racing photos. All the photos selected seemed staged. While I believe Mike was refering to F1 and motorsport images.

I totally agree, however, after going back to check all the entries, the vast majority were very staged looking. Not too many racing shots had that much interest. This contest reminded me how composites and extreme composites are starting to have a negative effect on me. May be it bothers you as well? Despite a "different looking" blur and a feel of unfinished, the image of the police car in possibly the UK or Australia with the cars in motion really grabbed my attention. Shepherd watching over his herd?

I think automotive was a good genre catch all. For whatever reason, Lee has an aversion towards racing shots. That's sad because there is a pretty big market for that kind on photography.

At the beginning of the critique they changed the topic from just "Automotive" to "photos for new car ads". And that disqualified immediately more or less all old cars and all motorsport photos.

Then why choose the race car cover photo?

Glad to have another image selected (even if Patrick doesn’t think there is a need for professional photos in any other category besides commercial advertising 😂) . But this time not including photographers names with the photos or the score reveal?
