Seamless backgrounds can be used to create a wide variety of images in the studio. Do you feel like you've mastered how to use them? Put your best work in front of the community now and see what they think.

Over the next week, we encourage you to choose your best two images taken on a seamless background and submit them in this episode of Critique the Community. We will select twenty images from the submissions to provide feedback to on video. Two entrants will win a free Fstoppers tutorial. The first will be chosen based on the highest average rated community image and the second will be chosen at random.

The goal of these contests is to give each participant the opportunity to improve their own photography based on the helpful and encouranging feedback of others. We invite everyone to scroll through the submissions and assign them a fair number rating based on the Fstoppers rating scale. The easiest way to do this is to use your number and keypad. You can also leave comments on each image when you see a particular way the image can be improved.

I see a lot of people complaining about the rating system, but I don’t think there’s really an issue with the system itself. It’s the community that’s the issue in all reality. “No disrespect.” Lol. If people would follow the rules and vote according to the rating system everything would be great. There are only 5 numbers, and each of them represent a level of skill. It’s spread out pretty well too. The only thing I would change is adding an “off topic” button. It’s really not a huge deal though because as others have stated, you can just give those images a 1. Moral of the story is that the community needs to just pay attention and utilize the rating system the way it’s intended. F-Stoppers is not a baby sitting site. It’s a community that is supposed to be comprised of professional photographers. I may also add, that just because an image is a 2 to you, doesn’t mean it can’t be a 4 to others or vice-versa. That’s why there is an average taken of total votes. By the end of every ctc that I’ve entered, I believe the stats are about right for my images. Don’t like your score? Take a step back, learn from it, and try to better yourself next time. Maybe even reach out to others in the community that you may admire and see if they have any advice. Have them critique your work. Critiques are solely for the purpose of enhancing your skill. Use it as a tool to better yourself.

Bravo!!!

Is it just me or is it taking longer than usual for the video for this contest to come out? Its been over two weeks and we have seen certain contests being judged weekly.

lol..it's just you and apparently 2 others based on thumbs up. The contest closed 8 days ago. Relax.

Last 4 contests were reviewed weekly so yeah Id say my question is pretty valid. What im not sure about is why you are so butt hurt about it and need to reply like a snob. I am very relaxed, though I have the right to ask a question. Dont be a tool seriously.

Looking back through the timelines of the past critiques, it seems to be twice a month. It will be soon. Probably tomorrow if I had to guess.

You have no sense of time. stop being a booger eater.

I'll take more Ritz Camera videos over more critiques. lol

What the hell is taking so long on the winners being picked video?

They may have forgotten their login passwords! LOL

Nobody wants an Fstoppers tutorial.
