This picture is the perfect demonstration, to me, that the best camera you have is the one that does the job.

I was in Oahu with my best friend, at the end of the day we decide to go to the spitting cave as it was whale season and we were damn lucky at the north shore that morning and spotted some whales breaching at around 1 mile offshore, so the pictures weren't the best.

I decided to leave the camera bag in the car as I was tired of having it with me all day, with the drone, the osmo, the 5ds, the 17-40, the 70-200 IS II, etc. I just went with the obvious choice for whale spotting the 70-200 the 5Ds and my Samsung Galaxy S8 in my pocket (not for pictures).

We are in this amazing rock formation with NO Whales anywhere to be seen, but with an amazing sunset, the waves hitting the rocks and everything was nice to get some cool pictures. My best friend was sitting where I took the shot from and yells at me to switch places as it looked nice for a picture. We switch, I look through the lens and say to myself damn I need my 17-40 that is in my camera bag in the car 10-15 min uphill so by the time I get back there is no more light, so without hesitation, I bust out my Galaxy S8 to shoot this picture.

I have the same picture with the 70-200, but it doesn't get in the field of view the rock with the wave hitting and to me that makes the photo
