I'm really torn about this image, I think it Needs Work but IMHO has a potential to be Excellent or even better. David, please don't take it the wrong way, I'm merely expressing my opinion here but I feel this image is worth it. Perhaps consider removing that nasty dark halo around the figure, for me it's massively distracting. Also, I reckon it could use some serious cropping. I imagine you wanted to keep more of the sky (which is nice) and more of the shore (which is nice) but overall, to my eye, this makes the image confused and the presumed subject way too small.
