This building is called Markthal (Market Hall in Dutch) and is located in Rotterdam, it was designed by MVRDV Architects. The goal was to have covered market without sacrificing space for flats, so they build the three story (going two levels in the ground) with a lot of small shops and local farmer products, and integrated the housings in the sides with a view on the market ! The whole interior are painting is veggies and fruits. Living in it must be quit the experience ! My idea behind the image was to add a great iconic building to my portfolio by showing the integration within the plaza and all the colorful paintings, which can only be seen at dawn or dusk.
