I feel like this would work great as a square because it would get rid of that very large blurry flower in the top right corner or at very least crop a good chunk of it out..
I mean on the one hand it does kind of help add depth to the image. On the other hand red naturally draws your eyes so any big red blobs are going to compete for attention. Maybe selectively change that red to something else? There is enough space and separation it'd be an easy mask.
