Part of a series about the revelation of the true self to our consciousness.
The whole project, which has been put on hold since last February, is called ' The ghost within ' which aim to describe the coexistence of two different selves, the one we know, and the one we don't. According a research in neuroscience, consciousness might act as an illusion of free will, a ghost that will deceive us into thinking that we are in command, since there is a delay between the input in the brain and the input of the will when we plan an action. From the brain to the will. So free will becomes the specter that will keep us together, avoiding our sanity to shatter into chaos.
Who can actually live a long life and think that each action is planned and take place before we have even consciously thought of it?
Shot was taken with a canon 5D (100 mm f/2.8 non L lens) and a single desktop lamp with a 25w led light bulb.
Nice. Would a little flame on the candle not have improved the shot. Molten wax needs a little flame ... or the smoke of a candle just sniffed-out.
hi Dirk! Thank you for the suggestion! This image, alone, is a bit out of context since was planned to go together with a bunch of other, so the absence of a flame would make sense. I agree, that stand alone, a flame or smoke would definitely improve it!
Cheers :D
