I live in the heavily industrialized region of the Rhineland in Western Germany. Leverkusen is home of the world known Bayer AG (painkiller Aspirin).
There are some iconic buildings around the corner but I wanted to try someting different. This is the small lift tower leading to a bridge that connects the Rhine promenade to the city centre.
Noboby will notice this as remarkable. But I saw these steel wires, the bright metal framework and, at that day, a perfect sky with the right wind direction. The long exposure softened the clouds and gave the image the contrast of static architectire and moving "nature". I enhanced the atmosphere with some gradients of "artificial" light.
Now I know who is going to be a winner of this CTC. Kudos to you, Jens! :)
I think that industrialized areas can work great for this type of fine art shots. Definitely will try this style out more in the future (as I normally do pure landscape).

Yes, industry, architecture, shapes and B/W work well together. And I don't have to drive a lot. It's all in my home region.
Exactly! Accessibility is a key, here. My closest mountain range is around 2 hrs drive from my home and believe me - waking up for sunrise isn't the best experience of my life. Not to mention that weather never cooperates, when I'm out and shooting. ;)
