After hoofing it several miles from the beach on Kodiak Island—somewhere in the distance toward that sun—I wheezed to a stop and turned around to see this. Considering how hard my heart was pounding I should have set up the tripod, but I was in energy conservation mode by this time and more concerned if I remembered to update my will before the assignment.
