Hello! This is my first ever attempt at colour grading and only a couple of days prior was the first time I have ever used ND filters. Fairly happy with my first ever attempt and got a look I'm happy with. Please let me know what you think!

Date - 3rd January 2019
Shot Info - Nikon D5200 with Nikkor 18-105mm lens. 18mm focal length, f8, 10 stop 'Gobe' ND filter, ISO 100, 52s exposure

It's Scotland what's not to like!

That's what I always say!

I love the blue fog and sky, but I’d love to see the rocks and cliffs colored red to add a little something to this. Just something to think about.

Thanks for the suggestion, I might try it on the next one. One thing though, and this is just me being pedantic, it's the sea, not fog - it was a rather windy day on the westernmost point of mainland Scotland so the waves were creating a beautiful mist as they broke on the rocks.

I can’t be the only person who thought that this was a valley full of fog! 🤯

Wow. Just goes to show how some creative coloring can really alter the perception of an image.

You should intentionally edit this as if it is mountaintops peaking through clouds. I bet it messes with peoples brains.

Interesting idea! Honestly I'm not sure if the original would look life fog too. As for perception now that you've said it I can kind of see it, not sure how I'd edit to take advantage of that though.

As an aside and with regards to perspective etc, how close did you think the foreground immediately in front of the camera was and how surprised would you be if I told you only about 4ft (120cm)

Ok, so considering that I thought I was looking at cliffs covered in fog...pretty darn surprised. So I’m guessing that is a moss covered rock, not a cliff with little trees. Oops.😉😂

Please post this somewhere and title it “mountain tops in fog” and please tell me if anyone else sees is what I’m seeing. 😁

is it just me or is the horizan not fully straight?

Hmmm, I don't know - the waterline is roughly straight but I'm not actually sure if the horizon is now that you mention it.
It's really hard to tell since the hills are the side of an ancient caldera so are moving off into the background in a gentle curve and there's not exactly a nice flat horizon to measure it against.
