Random moment on a frozen lake while shooting portraits of a friend. In panic took the shots and didn't realize I was still shooting at f2. Wish I had dialled f8 or f11.

it feels like the couple is a bit off to the left
It might feel like that yes, probably due to the gap in the treeline and the slightly off sunlight reflection, but physically the couple is dead center.
yes, I've had a similar problem once. in visual arts it is important to trust the eye, not the calculations to find the right balance
That is what counts in the end.
