thanks! somehow it seems that in contest ppl are generally voting with another system. This image has 4.22 stars in my portfolio:) so I assume ratings in contest are usually 1-1.5 stars lower than images that are not taking part in a contest.

TlI totally agreed with you. It would be nice to have, at least for contest posts, the obligation to comment when giving a 1 or 2 star vote. I just can speak for myself but the only reason for me to take part in a contest is to get some valuable feedback. :)
Agreed. Getting constructive feedback from skilled people is also why I joined. Conversely, I've noticed some good photographers react very negatively to feedback and obviously don't want it. Instead of contests, I'd appreciate an environment where those that want it, can post images with the metadata and get proper feedback.

Fantastic image, Fabian! I don't normally rate a photo that doesn't fit the subject and this one does because all source of light must be coming from the background. Good composition, colours and view. That's just my humble opinion.
