Not sure if it's out of focus or if the resolution is too low. It's close to being great though.

Yeah, this was tricky to take and focus might be a pinch off, sadly. Taken on the side of a steep hill on a hiking path; the seedling itself was on top a old stump which was about 4ft tall itself; handheld and full manual lens wide open (85m f1.8).
Been there, done that. :)
It's really difficult to check focus in-camera even at full magnification.
