Dude come on. The shadows clearly reveal that its not backlit.

The sun is at like the same angle as the contest main image? I assumed that meant it was a viable entry.

.

In this image, the sun is ~120 degrees from me, to the left side of the image. The castle is situated in a valley between hills, and the sun is setting on the opposite side of the first hill, so all of the light is filtered through the valley. The castle is tilted towards that side so that the left side is lighted from the back/side, and the right side does not receive light. In my opinion, that is the same as the contest main image. You can argue it is sidelight, but I think it’s still a valid entry. In either case, there’s no need to be rude about it if you disagree.

It was being factual. Side lit is side lit. Not back lit. No argument. Me pointing out that you didnt follow rules, is not rude. You not following them id say would be more rude.

So would you say the picture of the dunes as the contest main image is backlit or sidelight?
