Taken in Downtown Dallas on an overcast day. I bounced my on-camera flash off a large, grey-ish granite wall on the right which is providing the soft light source. 85 1.8 to throw out the background

I like the posing and nice expression. I feel the lighting is just a hair too hot on his face and the eye sockets have a touch too much shadow. IMHO the entire left 1/3 of the photo is not needed and distracting- crop along the left edge of the tree. I think you've almost got it.

Could be square crop in line with cubes in frame. minus distractions at the left.
