A classic composition of the NYC skyline, it was a fiery red sunset which I amplified using the usually undesirable color cast produced by my cheap 10 stop ND filter. Also used a tobacco-toned ND grad to shift colors towards a more reddish hue. So the colors were all achieved in camera, with some slight adjustments in Lightroom of course.

I like the picture but the lighting on the buildings does not always match the direction of the shadows of the pilings in the water.

I appreciate your input. Shadows just happened to end up that way, I believe the sun set behind the buildings thus the shadow of the pilings falls towards the camera with the buildings more dimly lit.
