This image titled "Inner Critic" was shot for my weekly photo club meetup themed "small." My intention was to capture the feeling of dealing with my inner critic.

Because I wanted the larger figure to appear unsettling and because I wanted the smaller figure to be a silhouette, my key light (modified with a gridded reflector) was below for "monster lighting." I also included a reflector with grid overhead to provide a little fill into the higher part of the image. I shot the smaller figure by blowing out a white backdrop with no front lighting.
