This was one of the first wildlife photos I took that I was really happy with. This was taken with a Nikon d3200 and the regular old 55-200 kit lens. I shot this during gold hour. This pelican was being very cooperative just sitting on a pillar basking in the sunlight almost like it was posing for me. I made the background black to eliminate the distractions. I also think the black and white conversion helped bring out some of the details in the bird.
