Cropped to 16x9 to eliminate a rather boring sky above Mesa Arch. My intent was to draw more attention on the valley beyond looking through the arch while still emphasizing the sunrise and underlighting on the arch.
One of the biggest cliche' locations of the American West, but certainly doesn't mean you shouldn't shoot and experience it. I scouted the location the previous day and planned where I would stand based on where the sun would rise. Alas, even arriving around 4 am was not good enough to be the first arrival. Someone was already shooting night photography but I was still able to stake my claim.
