This project was about to create and bring alive a thing called Lidérc - Is a unique supernatural being of Hungarian Folklore. Goes by the name literally the devil. On Earth, it can assume a human shape, its footprints are that of a horse. The Lidérc enters the houses through keyholes and chimneys, brings sickness and doom to. its victims. It only left behind bad omens and many of says is impossible to outrun. It must disappear at the first crow of a rooster at down.

It was a collaboration with the model, it was his idea and his imagination and we bring alive this creature together.
He made the headpiece by himself, its basically a pack of candle glued to a wire frame and burnt to different heights. its really fragile and quite difficult to move around.
We rented a small studio in London set the candles on fire of course above the paper backdrop. And there was a single light slightly on the left hand side.
The smoke of the candles is cut from 3-4 pictures, there was no chance to capture that on one photo.

I gotta say your colors and lighting are spot on. My eye is drawn between the face and the candles. While the content of the photo might not be for everyone, I think you've done an excellent job with this.

Thank you for the good words I appreciate it.

I love the candle headdress and neckwear. I enjoy doing folkloric characters with minimal props too, so I'm very pleased to see this photo.
