She was plucking flowers with the kids in grandmas’ garden. So, the flowers wouldn’t go to waste, I showed her an image on my phone for inspiration. I had her do the same as the image to hold the flower over her eye. I only had 10 seconds before she said, “daddy, I want to go play.” The settings for the Canon EOS 1D Mark ii were 1/200, f/2.8, ISO 50. I used a 40mm prime lens. I increased the exposure and shadows in Lightroom along some adjustments in the Mask. In the Mask I used Radial Gradient and inverted it so I could lower the exposure to everything but her face. I increased the white in her eye and increased the highlights to the flower. I selected her and increased the highlights. I converted the image to black and white and went into the Black & White Mix to adjust +1 and -1. In the Detail tab, I increased the Radius and Detail. In the Effects tab, I lowered the Highlight Priority to create some vignetting. The Saturation increased to +1, and the Hue of the Green increased to +1 under the Calibration. Tiny increments of +1 and -1 makes a big difference to the image when you sum them all up, well to my eyes.
