Mirage / Desert’s Illusion … or…
I made this image returning from a pre-dawn [excursion on Death Valley’s salt pan. I reached this pool of water before the sun breached the the mountain ridge where Dante’s View resides. I composed several images as I approached closer and closer. This was one of the closest. An abstract vision of desert reality 282’ below sea level, and the surreal becomes the standard far too often. Here down becomes up, light dissolve the last corners of night to noon, water becomes earth.

Scanned @ 3200 dpi optical resolution to .dng format
Proceed ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) fine tuned for print and resized for web with Adobe Photoshop.
