I took this picture on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It was a 20 minute exposure, using painting with light techniques. I used a few different types of flashlights, flash, and colored gels. I also used my tee-shirt to diffuse some of the flashlights in some parts of the scene. The moon was full, with a cloudy sky. This made it perfect for this long exposure, not blowing out the sky.
Used my favorite camera of all time - 1961 Bronica S1 6x6 medium format.
Hoya lens, and old heavy Chicago Majestic tripod.
Fuji Velvia 50 120 film
