In downtown Buffalo, NY I came across this street-side mural and shot it as a pure color piece, framing tight so the bold shapes filled the frame and the round lamp sat on the red curve. I photographed it handheld on a Canon 5D Mark II with the 28–105mm in open shade to avoid glare and exposed slightly dark to keep the warm colors from blowing out. In Lightroom I kept the edit simple: straightened and squared the wall, cooled the white balance a touch to lean the teals, added a modest contrast boost, and gently increased saturation on the blues/teals and warm tones. A small darkening around the lamp and along the bottom panels helped keep attention on the color and shapes.
