This image from 2022, was taken with the Nikon D850 and AF-S 28-300mm lens. It was shot with the following settings in Manual Mode: 1/1600 sec., f/5.6, 300mm focal length, ISO 500, WB Auto and Spot Metering.
There's an area at the Santa Barbara Zoo, between the Lion Exhibit and the zoo train depot where there are a variety of cactus species grow and often have exquisite blooms like the one here. I usually lose my party as I linger to capture them from a few different angles.
The RAW image was creatively edited in Capture One 23 to yield the vibrant colors I saw that day.
